Hi all, just bought a 1990 W124 300TE, really thrilled and although it wasn't a bargain it's in great condition with lots of history.

I'll order a Haynes manual, but I'd be grateful for any recommendations of a reasonably local Independant, I did search the forum but Letchworth was about the closest.

    Many thanks.

Thanks for the good wishes chaps, re the gtg do you mind if I take a rain check on that, I'd be a little nervous driving my new p&j in SE London at the moment, I'm near leafy St Albans and all I can hear at the moment is police sirens..

Welcome to the forum. They are not police sirens you are hearing they are air raid warnings. Welcome to 1943!

Welcome Tresco, I'm new to this site too.

Try Wayne Gates (mercservicing.co.uk) or Brian Nair (nairautos.com) - both based in Rosslyn Crescent, Harrow. I've used both in the past for my w124. Good chaps. No affiliation, just a recommendation.

    Thanks Zebrano I'll try them.

I'm really enjoying the car, the ABS light flickered on briefly yesterday and the Wife said "is that a fault already? I told you to buy a newer car." I replied "not a fault darling, it's a characteristic.."
