I have a 1986 230E W124 saloon.

I am trying to establish if there is a Sportline Suspension conversion kit available for this model and in the UK.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Thank you for the reply

I am trying to ensure I can get the "self-levelling Sportline" kit

Sports suspension also has different ball joints which come permanently attached to the front lower wishbones.

I'm pretty sure it's different bushes front and rear as well.
There is a company in the US that sells the kit.

Thank you

I have read about Peach Parts - its a Bilstien kit. Was hoping to find a UK supplier.

Cheaper & better to buy a car with a factory Sportline chassis & optioned with SLS than retrofit it all I think.

Why do you want SLS?

Good question -

Having trouble with the suspension now and thought, if I really have to do all that work - can I go for SLS?????

Suspesion at the moment has that "Old and Worn down feeling". I have taken it in to several garages and all have said that they think the springs are OK, the shocks are OK, the suspension mountings are OK and they cant find a problem with the various arm bushes.

That said, there is a real problem when driving! It is making me CRAZY!!!

I reckon, the solution would be to replace all bushes, and arms as well as mounting shocks and springs (front rods and steering damper are new). So if I am to do that, how much more would it be to get SLS???

try chaing the roll bar bushes, see how it feels

whats the problem?

You don't want to retrofit SLS, waste of time unless you use your car for carrying a lot of weight all the time...even then it will be expensive to keep maintained if you carry a lot of weight.

The problem is more on the back suspension.

Very tired and worn out feeling! You notice it on dips or small pot holes, it sounds like the whole back of the car is about to fall off.

Anyway Gents

Thanks for the advice. I think that I will not go for the SLS! But rather try to locate this very irritating problem, that some 4/5 mechanics have not been able to find.:thumb:

Could it be all in my head? Is this what a 23 y/o car sounds like?:dk:

I think not:doh:

Where do you live? Somebody probably knows a good independent Merc specialist close to you who could get to the bottom of it quickly.

Thanks
