Hi all,

Bloke from the US here. :ban: ............ :D

Anywho, I'd like to find a set of W124 steel wheels for my coupe. It's a sportline if it makes a difference (I do not know for steel wheels). No car here in the US was available with steel wheels but I would like a set for winter and what not. Something about black steel wheels on a pretty white coupe....

If someone has a set (reasonable price w/ post to US) that they would like to unload, please send me an email: [email protected] or PM me on this board. If anyone needs help getting some US bits for their cars, I'd be glad to help.

Cheers,
Allen

:)

Be carefull what you buy, I got hold of a set of steel wheels to put on a 300e 24v as a temporary measure while I broke the car up for spares, they didn't fit over the front brake calipers so I had to remove them. Wasn't too much of a problem as the car was being dismantled anyway but it will be for you. Make sure you get the right offset to clear them...

By the way, you can't PM until yu have a minimum of 30 posts.

thank you for the warning! i forgot about those 4 pot calipers. the wheel size i know would be 6,5J x 15 but what particular offset would clear the 4 pot calipers? ET44?

Not sure, I guess it would be the same ET as the original 8 hole alloys fitted? I'm sure someone in the know will be able to help...

i had the same problem on a 320 coupe, when i had a punture, came to put the spare wheel on and it would not fit, luckily i was at my unit, but i still had to try 3 different types of alloy wheel before one would fit, but now i have the correct steel wheel for a spare, i will look at it tomorrow and give you the part number and et

much appreciated!!!

i've been having a lot of trouble finding the correct ET and size that would fit on my coupe.
thank you,
Allen

Surely the shipping of four wheels to the USA would cost more than buying a set of scruffy alloys from somewhere local to you?

well see, i want the steel wheels. i have had more than my fair share of alloys and none of them really set me off the way plain jane black steelies do. :)
we never got them here in the states. it's one of those "european" things that i want my car to have.

Hi bsmuwk,

No idea on how the parts service works over in the states, but normally steel wheels are quite cheap to buy new from MB over here in the UK.

Might be worth checking for a price over there first as I'd guess that the shipping would be expensive?

Will

you make a good point there. but i'd still need a part number for the correct wheel to give to the classic center here in the states. i could really get any european specific part i want (aside from exhaust).

thanks,
allen

at last, i would think you would get these in the states, as it is a c class wheel, part number is 203 400 03 02, 7J X 16 H2 ET37, dave
