W124 - Steering damper torque

:fail Sorry guys without knowing I posted this in the wrong sub forum sigh..., don't know how to move it, don't think I can?


Hi Guys,

So today I wanna put my new steering damper in my 1994 E280, it's a Sachs 280 999 (Super Touring) and I wonder what the torque specs are for tightening the bolts down?
I couldn't find them for W124 but I saw on some other Mercedes's it was 40Nm?

Does anyone know?

40 nm = 30 pounds foot

Use a bit of thread locker on the old bolts

I've managed to switch them. Tightned it to 40Nm didn't have thread locker or anything but I think there was still some on it
The old one was totally shot! Much better steering feel with the new one.
