Hi,

I'm looking at rebuilding the rear suspension on my E320 but in order to keep the car on the road as much as possible I'd like to build up a new rear end and swap it over once complete. With this in mind does anyone have a rear subframe available? The car has a sportline chassis option which may or may not be important depending on what you read on the internet!

Thanks in advance.

Billyw124 still has one,drop him a pm

Even if the replacement isn't Sportline just use it and rebuild your own one then swap it back.

Does this mean that there is definitely a difference? Looks like I need to do a bit more research and if there is a difference and I cant find the correct one I'll only be doing the job once so I'll not go down the route you suggest and will live with having the car off the road a bit longer. Thanks for the input though.

Only difference is the Subframe bushings - either standard or Sportline. I ordered the subframe with brand new Sportline bushes so either way you would be covered should you want it. Saying that when the subframe arrived I didn't actually check the bushes to be sure so would need to check but i would hope so!

If in doubt have piece of mind and order a set of Sportline bushes for not much. They are now superseded with '129' i.e R129 SL part numbers and so you don't get specific '124' ones albeit they are the same fitment and bush. In cases like this its always advisable you get the latest available..From MB, with after market or OEM from your local factors you don't know if they are manufacturing the 'improved' bush.....yet.

I've got a whole refurbished axle base for the 124:

Build it up on the floor and bolt it straight up. I was going to use it for my own project.

-minus the front arms they are sold.
Hi Billy, I had actually seen that thread but assumed you had got rid of them as you needed the space last February!! (Just goes to show you should never assume!) I could be interested once I've done a bit of research to make sure the subframe is the right one for my car's spec (The part numbers you list should help thanks).
Do you have an idea of what you want for it and can you tell me where you are located as I'm guessing it's a bit bulky to package up for a courier?

I think our replys crossed over there. Thanks for the clarification on the differences between the two types.
It all sounds ideal, do you have a price in mind? you can pm me if you prefer.
