[w124] Sunroof Ghost

All of a sudden the controls for the sunroof have failed and for no obvious reason the sunroof randomly opens when driving along (but tends to also shut more than it opens, so far at least).

The controls for the back windows have also gone but not sure if this is related.

What's the first thing to look for?

Might be worth checking your fuses first snoopy - sometimes they look ok, but go brittle at the ends and fall to bits when you take them out.

hmm I recall this happening on my 230TE, the sunroof started opening and closing by itself after (fortunately) a massive thunderstorm in France...then a few days later, while driving down an Autoroute, it started screaming horribly from the sunroof motor, so I pulled over and disconnected the electrics....never got round to looking at it since then, so I will be interested to see what can be done!
