OM606 W124 Saloon.
I know im gonna get mixed thoughts on this, but here she is:

The car is a white 1989 W124 E250 D.

It has an OM606 3.0 engine (from a W210 E Class)
6 speed box from a W211 E270 cdi
Sachs racing clutch and custom flywheel
7.5mm manual superstroker injection pump from dieselmeken
Borgwarner S300 turbo running 3 bar
3 inch turbo back stainless exhaust
Big radiator and intercooler from an E300 W124
Bosch lift pump

A few pics:

So this car appears 100% bone stock from the outside. Unless you twig the exhaust of course.

Under the bonnet is a bit more revealing..

It is worth mentioning that this engine is bone stock. Unopened. Its been running this power for a year, uses no oil, and has lost no compression. Pretty amazing really!

The car made 562hp and 587 ft lb. That is wheel figures from a hub dyno. Crank figure was 680bhp. It has an 8,000rpm redline, but feels best when changing at around 6 to 6.5.

And yes, it will still do 37mpg if you stay off boost.

Love it.

I would go with stock bumpers and steelies too :)

Phwoar!

I'd have a set of 15 hole alloys just to complete the sleeper look, but that is one impressive bit of kit!

That's astounding! Did you do the conversion yourself? How well does it keep the power down?

That's epic, goes like hell when it's on boost doesn't it? :D:D:D

We just need to get dpuk no3 on the forum now to complete the set.

Nice figures but what I find interesting is how tidy the install is, bar the rather rather large hairdryer on the side of the engine you would never know !

Cheers guys!

It is indeed a dieselpumpuk built car. Ive always wanted one since i was little and thought **** it!

Diff / prop are still standard atm. But the open diff has issue with traction in 4th 5th and 6th in the bone dry. Damp on the other hand... lol

WOW! I would love something like that!! Brilliant!

Another one from the 'love it' camp here :-)

This is epic! Always quite fancied doing an OM606 conversion to a 190 2.6 shell. Does anyone know how much this conversion costs in parts (for the W124 that is)?

Wow! That's absolutely barking... Very VERY peaky, though; more like a highly-tuned two-stroke than a diesel. It can't be easy to keep it in the big power - blink and you're through it! I can't read the figures to tell what it's doing low in the rev range; what's the lag like?

Nice I can see there faces now when you smoke there m3's off the lights ha.
