My delightful 95 W124 E320 Coupe came with a large number of desirable extras but no temperature sensor - it wasn't on the spec. Assuming it was never fitted, would retrofitting be an economic job? I do notice the absence and after last winter think it might be a useful thing to retrofit, but not if it requires lots of work.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Edit - as I am a disaster zone mechanically it would be fitted by a third party.

Its a relatively simple retrofit. You will need the sensor, a bit of loom from the base of the fuse box to the instrument cluster ??and the display itself- you may get the connecting loom with the indicator which is quite expensive for what it is. It just screws into place on the back of the instrument cluster which is easily removed. PeachPartsWiki: Instrument Cluster Removal
I have a feeling someone has posted a how to about this somewhere.:dk:
