W124 to W210 gear shifter??

I want to install a later W210 gear shifter to my W124...

As you guys know, the W124 shifter and stalk is one piece, whereas on the W210, the stalk stays in situ and its just the gear shifter that comes off..

Iv seen people use the later ones on earlier cars... so how best to go about it?

I already have the Designo W210 gearknob, just want to fit it to my W124?

All I can think of is that you must be able to unscrew the stalk

You saying, if i unscrew the stalk from the W210, just to use that in the W124?

I suspect it may not fit, differing in height and angle... but defo worth a go

Oh great! That clears up everything!

Just need to buy a shifter rod for a W203... with the part number supplied in the link too.

Onto the dealers tomorrow!

Dee , im sure its the w202 shaft you need.

The Japanese doc also shows w210 gear knob with a w202 shaft
