W124 Turbo technics kit

they dont have any more 3.2l kits left at Hughes of Beaconsfield so could be a good buy for someone.

Not my car but it looks a clean example. Im not 100% convinced on the rear arches.
And Hughes have no more m104 e320 kits left.

whats the power gain with one of these?

woohoo - where do i get one!!? best get the one on fleabay at this rate.

Realistically, what does it do to engine life with that sort of power upgrade? whatelse needs uprating - brakes, bearings, gearbox?

Ha Ha :D

Thats said Nick it was a serious question - is the existing running gear up to it?

I had a Turbo Technics kit on a 300E and it had 175,000 miles on the clock and still went like the clappers....had a new head gasket at 110,000 and the turbo were rebuilt at that point as well.

The likely power output would be 345 bhp on the e320 engine. However, this is NOT a simple bolt on kit. Ive had custom pistons and rods made to lower the compression ratio, Hughes used to have the conrods machined to achieve the same thing. The electronics supplied in the kit are very old now, and would need to be replaced with something like a split second unit. Forum member Janner is also mid project on one of these.

Have spoken to Ian B on this one and he is saying he can do it but.......

Still; it does appeal - might look at buying one and getting it done during a bare metal respray...this is what silly dreams are made of:devil:

When I first saw it on ebay, I was going to "Buy It Now". Alas, the parents gave a resounding "No", and the don't think the insurance company would like it too much, considering my current premium :o

As a matter of interest what does a 22 year old ex-student pay for insurance on an E320? :)

As an ex-student, not 22, I just got my quote this morning for £196.35 fully comp, agreed value 6k. I bet Mercboiuk's premium has an extra digit in it! (300CE-24)

thant sounds good - could you PM who that was with and excess details etc; mines up for renewal in Feb
