I kept my boot in for a few seconds more after the finish and the Vbox recorded 184.1!!!!!
I wonder what she'll do over 1.3 miles?

if I had 1.3 miles then I think 190 is on the cards.
Speed rating is 168, getting anything better in that size is impossible. Hence they are new Contis!
 
There are a couple of Y-rated in 215/55R16 but as you say it's not common.

If you haven't already, one possibility is to try the wing spacer kit - that should allow you to run 129 sizes (225/55ZR16) which might have better options for high speed ratings.

Very interesting post , and 3 cheers to Max for his project W124,. The best i have seen yet .Just wish i was younger with good sized garage to do those type of jobs . And the brains to go with it .

A good build Max saw this first on retro rides. A question i would like to ask .Would it be possible to ditch both my petrol fuel pumps for one like the diesel set up you have in the beast ?.
