As you guys know I'm selling my small collection of cars at the moment.

But I'm stumped on my 300ce.... The prices range all over the place online and I am attached to the car as I bought it when I left the army
late 2014 after being injured so there's added sentimental value for me.

It's currently in the MB Indi having some work done to make it tip top, the interior is spotless, it will have 12 months mot. So I need ideas on a price please guys!

It's a 1990 300ce 24v
Great service history and a large bill about to come up
I've got the original service book and a huge file of receipts and all the old mot's etc.
115,000 miles
New windscreen fitted this week
Black Leather electric seats
Aircon
Seat belt retractors all work
Etc etc

I don't know whether it's worth selling or keeping and wait for another few years.

Photo taken in summer (doesn't come out of the garage in winter)

Looks great . As for value , you need to really decide what you want for it to not regret selling ,,,, do your homework as you are doing by looking at many different sales websites then decide what your is worth ,,, good luck with your choice regards Jon

Just my opinion but I would keep it. It looks and sounds a good example. Well sorted mechanically with a good spec. Advertised prices vary hugely and the higher priced ones seem to stick around for ages even at the specialist dealers. Also you would find it hard to find another in the future and I suspect prices will eventually rise as they get rarer.

gives
DEALER £5,000 sold with some form of warranty??

CAT 1 £3250+250 FOR 24 V =£3,500

CAT2 £1250+250 FOR 24V = £1,500

CAT 3 £325+ 250 FOR 24V = £575 RESTORATION PROJECT NO MOT etc

Some ball park figures- outstanding cars will as always fetch more attractive metallic colour - leather trim working aircon= converted to newer gas etc etc

If you keep it in good nick and keep it running [ not laid up in a garage] its unlikely to lose value.

You mention a large bill about to come up, what is that?

I've got a very similar 300ce sportline but 12v

After I have finished titivating it to a high standard to have no rust, no mechanical issues and a perfect black leather interior with heated seats and a manual gearbox, I am expecting it to be worth circa 4k

I think that yours would be worth similar to a bit more

Yeah mine is a rust free example.

Exhaust, full service not just an oil change, I imagine to see a bill of around £750/£1000

So around £4k is a ball park.

It's a tough decision to choose between keeping and selling

It doesn't seem enough does it?

A dealer would ask a lot more, and presumably get it, it seems that at present the facelift versions are preferred by most, and valued higher

I prefer the pre facelift versions

You could always try higher as good cars are getting rarer, mind you, spring is probably a better time of year to sell

I wonder when they'll start to rise in value, if at all?

Here's mine, needs the sides painting and the new wings fitting

Spend a grand to get four for it? Keep it if possible :thumb:

This is very true. I will keep you all updated with my decisions. If I do put it up for sale it will be around £3,500/£4,000

Thanks for all the advice guys

Doesn't seem like enough but it was never going to be worth a fortune

Almost identical cars really!

Is the previous owner not interested??Ask him if you haven't

Prices have been moving gently upwards for a while, and you see fewer rough ones advertised. The prices being discussed sound about right, but remember that you will have to spend more next year when you realise that it was a great car and you miss it.
My suggestion would be to lay it up for a few months and see if you feel its lack.

I'd be keen to know more about your car if you decide to sell, although i'm looking to buy within the next month or two.

Do you ever make your way towards London or Wiltshire ? Cornwall is a bit far

PS - can't PM you ... yet

Cornwall is a long way from anywhere, I trailered my one back from just shy of Blackpool to Cornwall.

When you hit 30 posts drop me a line I'm in no rush.

I'm in London near enough once a month but I don't take this one as I've always got something diesel to hand that I'd rather put miles on.

PM sent (hopefully)
