W124 WALD bodykit

The Wald bodykits are really a step up from the normal "Barry" stuff.

This isn't a bad price for the kit, it's about retail on the stuff.

It is something we are looking at bringing into the UK from 2008. At the moment we specialise in Japanese wheels and these truely are a cut above the US/EU produced stuff.

The problem with bringing in goods from Japan is the import duty, and the need to air freight the stuff in. A bodykit is particularly bulky so the costs of transport are quite high. If we sea freight the goods in it takes up to 3 months, and though cheaper, no customer will wait that long. In addition the older models operate an exchange process on the kits e.g. W124

I have no experience with this dealer on ebay, but I do know they have changed their name recently.

Wald have started to branch out into supplying bodykits for a lot of non-Merc cars, it's a market we're very interested in.

W202 Wald kit is still available on an exchange basis as far as I know, both for the saloon and estate.
This is for model 1997 onwards only.

However, i doubt anyone will pay the £1,000 for the full kit, and then the shipping cost of their own bumpers back to Wald in Japan.

It's an expensive business.

So is that another avenue that you're investigating when you start importing the WALD kits?

And I guess I can't fit it to a pre-facelift W202 then?

Yes, it's something else we're investigating, i.e. we're responsible for the returning of the bumpers to Wald, not the customer.

Sorry you can't fit to a pre-facelift W202. Well actually you can but you'd need to send Wald back a set of facelift bumpers.

Also the price of around £1k excludes painting. This is why they just become too expensive.

Nah, its easier just to buy my W202 wald kit!!;)
