W126, beeps when ignition turned off?

Hi folks,

My '85 280SE always does 5 beeps, a couple of secs after switching off. Does it every time. There's no dash lights or anything apparently wrong, no driving lights on or anything like that; any ideas? Kinda wondering if it's trying to tell me something important ....

Nothing silly like your stereo chirping "remove me"; some Sony's do it

Yup the Panasonic stereo in my R129 does this too by default, although it can be turned off via the menus.

Cheers! Just been out for a closer look, didn't think it was a face-off as it flips down but after random tweaking the found face slides off the hingged backing plate effort
