W126 M110 Engine Sluggishness

My 280SE M110 engine is sluggish and refuses to accelerate when cold even after a thorough flexing of the right foot. Prior to the last service, which included new plugs, filters etc., the condition did not exist, or at least not that much or often. Once warm the car works fine for the rest of the day. Any clues, apart from taking it back to people who clearly do not know what they should be doing!

cold start valve?

what injection system is on this model? I only have data for the 116 280se

temperature sensor? (there should be two, probably located on the front left of the block as you stnd there looking at it)

or the small hose (if tyhis has the same inj system) to the 'warm up regulator' (small box on rhs of inlet manifold).

or they have put the wrong plugs in it..
