W126 - Passenger Side Underdash

Hi, This Part (the carpeted bit under the glove box) was off the car so long I can't rememer why it was taken off in the first place.. I tried to put back the original and the plastc parts broke with hardly any force.. So now i'm f****d.. I tried the dealer to replace but they stopped making the part.. Does anybody know where I can get hold of this part or know if I find a replacement in another colour could I dye the carpeted bit?

Try any of the people breaking 126's on ebay. Rob Parker at threepointedparts is good. I'm sure u could find one in the right colour if u persevere.

If it's just the plastic clips at the rear then they don't really matter that much.

All they do is hold the cover below the heater box and I know from experience that that cover will clip up behind the rear of the unit without a problem even with the clips broken.

Make sure you remove the inside of the glove compartment so you can re-attach the heater pipe to the door duct and refit the air temp sensor electric motor into its clip. It will send you mad rattling around if not I assure you !!
