W126 remote central locking

Was this ever fitted as an option from Mercedes? And if it was, is it possible to find all the bits and retrofit it?

If not, has anyone successfully fitted an aftermarket kit, and if so, what should I look out for in terms of spec etc? As it's a vacuum operated system rather than having a solenoid on each lock, should I look out for anything different when choosing a system?

I'd like to find this out too. There is a Waeco kit in Germany that somebody said was good with our lock vacuum system.
It sounds easy but i'm wary of digging into something that works well already.. But it was called the Waeco Magic Touch MT-150-AU1 on ebay.de.
