W126 Steering Wheel Replacement

Howdy all,

Now that I have had some time to look over the W126, I've come up with a list of things needing attention. First item is the steering wheel, which looks like this:



Around the top, the patten has all but worn off and the core has separated from the outer. [Not the end of the world, but you can see it from there.]

What I'd like to do is replace the steering wheel with something more modern, along the lines of this, which I believe is a W202 wheel:



What I'd like to know:

Are there any wheels like this that are non-airbag? (no idea)
Are MB wheels interchangeable across W series? (think so)

There was a design which was more modern than the one you have, also without an airbag.
