W126 water inside after rain

Hello everyone. New to the forum although I've owned many different models of Mercedes and enjoyed everyone.
Although, my W126 is giving me some grief, it is one of the quietest and most comfortable cars I've owned and yet before it rains I have to put towels under the floor mats to soak up the water that WILL get inside the drivers and passengers front foot wells. I park it on a downhill angle so water does not run through to the rear foot wells.

I can see drips tracking down the wire looms from inside of the firewall, but I cannot get close enough to see the water entry point. All the engine bay drains are unblocked and there is no rust around the battery mounts or visible holes. I took off the plastic trim to expose the wiper bay and cleaned all the leaves and dirt from that area and no visible signs of holes, rust etc.

I can't help but think someone knows what the solution/s could be, as it is not an uncommon issue with W124 and W26's. I look forward to anyone imparting their Mercedes water tight wisdom and preventing me from giving the car away.
Cheers,
Paul
