Which screen/display are you asking about? Posting a picture of the "screen" might help

Some of the w140s in Japan, had comand as option.

The unit is called CNS [Command Navigation System] made by Bosch I think.

Part no is A1408206826

BUT read this from a poster in the middle east

I don't think you'll have much luck getting the CNS nav unit to work in the Middle East, I have the same unit (Japense import car) in Dubai and as far as I know, this unit was only used in Japanese spec cars, hence most of the UI for the nav function is in Japanese language only, so even if you found updated disks for the maps you'd still need to learn Japanese to use it. There are several threads about this, and nobody ever found a way of changing the language setting.

the japaneese CNS navigation display will never work out of japan because the radio frequency for FM band different and even TV signal broadcast tuner built in supports japaneese NTSC 3.58 which will not support the local PAL - TV transmission in dubai or in kuwait where i live , while even navigation system local map comes on DVD and the car shipped with CD based navigation ..
you may find used parts in kuwait for CNS display and control unit as part no 140 820 68 26 for only US$ 175 , as replacement but again useless as you explained .
but it may help if A/C control went bad and u need it .
i think we need the same unit but euro ver or german model that will fit smoothly instead of the japaneese p/n , so TV will be PAL and FM band will be from 88 to 108 mhz and menu will be in german/english . And this is what I m looking for and I wanted to buy in order to keep every thing genuine and not to spoil the original setup by adding third party non tested components.
Here is a picture.

You may want to update to a slightly later command system which doesn't need the Canbus system I believe one from the ML W163 may be OK???

is there any way to make it works ?

I am not sure which country you are living in, but this not an easy installation to achieve without considerable knowledge of your car's electrical system. It might involve the complete or part removal of the existing system and replacing it with newer version of Command + an update of the software to get up to date coverage of your country's present road system. If you are based in the UK there are several car electronic specialists on this forum who offer such services. If you are living elsewhere you must find a local specialist to help you. Such a conversion would cost a considerable sum of money and you would be much better to purchase one of the many hand held navigation systems now available as aftermarket accessories. e.g. the Garmin product range Garmin | Follow the leader
