W140 S600 V12 badge placement

I have just had it highlighted to me that the V12 badges on my car are placed too high. I have looked at other cars and it seems to be the case. I'm wondering whether Mercedes changed it for the final production year. The car is a August 98 model.

The early ones had it lower.

The V12 is right,a friend had a red one with little mileage,weirdly the interior was like a fern green and beige.
