Hi All,

I have recently bought a W140 S280 for peanuts and planning to use as a daily. I have been told that they do not like staggered wheels and can cause issues with the cruise control and other things.

I have an oppotunity to buy a set of W210 Staggered AMG Monoblocks, where there is a 0.39% difference. Will this cause the above issues?

(235/40/18 - 265/35/18)

Cheers
Dan

More pertinently, will the 210 wheels accept M14 bolts instead of the M12 they were intended for?

I don't think 2mm will make much of a difference

2mm larger dia wheel bolts will make a difference, more importantly m12 and m14 wheel bolts have a different seat radius and MB didn't use larger wheel bolts on the S class for the hell of it...

What's the kerb weight and gross axle weights for a w140? The monoblock II wheels in w124 fitments (smaller tyre dias) only have a load rating of 630kg which works out at only ~300kg more than the gross weight for some 124 models.

Obviously width plays a big role but S classes typically run very different wheel ETs to C and E classes

0.39% shouldn't be enough of a difference to confuse ABS... 225/45 and 245/40 is a fairly common staggered set up on many models of MB and the difference is 1.04%

Ive run staggered monoblock ii splits on my W140 for the last 12 months with no issues to the cruise control or anything else

Can anyone confirm if W210 AMG E55 Monoblocks are a no no?
