W163 ML270 2004 blower motor removal?

Hi all,

today my ML started making a rustling noise from the blower motor. I've had the panel below the glovebox off and tried it with and without the cabin filter and narrowed it down to the motor.

It sounds like something simple like a leaf stuck in it.

Any idea how to remove it to try cleaning it? I've taken the three screws out but it's still blocked in by a bracket with electrical connectors that I can't seem to remove. I'll try again this weekend in the light, but one of the screws on this bracket is blocked by the connectors and I can't work out how to get the connectors off the bracket!

You never know, it might just munch up whatever's rustling and spit it into the filter

If anyone does know this, it would be great to know but it stopped this morning anyway

I guess it threw whatever was causing the noise out of the motor cage. I’ll check the filter later today
