Hi MB friends!
My rear springs have bought it after the princely record of 160,000 miles of UK speed bumps :bannana:
The VIN decodes as having the u49 sport pack, which has the bits and bobs I can see (bumper, wheels, exhaust tip etc). My mechanic reckons we need to order in the ML55 AMG rear coil springs to replace due to the sport pack u49 option.
from what I can tell online, the u49 sport pack was just bumper/fog/wheels/exhaust tip, is that correct? Or is my mechanic right and i need the AMG ones?
If its just the standard ml500 springs, is this a good time to swap out for something a bit sturdier? if so what do you guys recommend? Is it worth going for a 30/35mm lower on the rear and tweak the torsion bar upfront to drop it a bit? Im on the EVO II 17's
as a side note, I saw a set of salvaged ML55 AMG coilovers for a bargain price - would they be a straight swap to the existing ml500 coil/shock combo?
many thanks!
