Hi,
My ml270 decided to not start after a 2 hour drive and got me stuck at Easton Gordano services.
The aa man was called who could not pin point the cause
But "easy started" it and so she fired up.
Now I've never had an issue before the old beast would fire on the button
But now she's hooked on easy start
Prior to this I have renewed the o rings on all but the fuel pump ends as they look hard to sort out there is the tiniest of air running through the pipes but not enough to give me trouble straight away
I've also hooked it up to a star machine but no faults found on the quick test
So maybe to much leak off on the injectors but I'm guessing that that would be a slow progressing fault and not a sudden fail ?

Any ideas of help would be much appreciated

What year is yours and is at a pre or post facelift model?

Recently a chap posted a starting problem with his ML270 which turned out to be his fuel filter housing. This confused me at first as mine is a 2003 post facelift and my fuel filter is a replacement can. From what I can gather the pre facelift older model used a filter housing where the whole thing is not replaced just the inner filter.

His problem was that his housing was letting air in (not the common O rings which I have had).

See the following link and see if it helps in any way.

if yours is a later post facelift then not much more I can add over what you have already done, O-rings, checking for cracks in all the hard plastic fuel line connections (or the fuel lines themselves), have a leak off test done to see if the injectors are working correctly etc.

all the best.
