Just had my ML270 serviced by my mechanic, and he has said that he does not know how to re-set the service indicator.
Does anyone out there know how to do this or is it a case of taking the car into my nearest MB dealer?
My Mechanic (whom I used for a number of years) is under the impression that I'll have to take it into a dealership, I'm not keen on doing this as they'll charge, and I've already paid out £476 on the service.
So if anyone knows how to re-set it then, HAPPY DAYS.
Thank you.

It should say in your handbook.

I think the process is documented on here, a search should reveal all.

You do not need to take it the dealer it is all done through the buttons in the instrument cluster & the ignition key.

Thanks for your input.
I've found how to reset the service indicator via Google, so all's good, I suppose I should have investigated Google before troubling you guys.
I've had a look in the hand book, but it says nothing about resetting.
Just in case anybody else is looking here's how you do it:

1. Move ignition key to pos' 2
2. Within the first 4 seconds after moving the ignition key to pos' 2, press
the reset button (this is situated to the left of the speedometer) twice
within 1 second. The display for the service request is activated for 10
seconds.
3. Within these 10 seconds move the ignition key to pos' 0, the service
request continues to be displayed.
4. Press the reset button for the trip counter and keep it pressed.
5. Move the ignition key to pos' 2.
6. Continue to hold the reset button pressed until the signal sounds, and
the new start distance appears in the display (about 10 seconds).

Hope this helps, it sorted me out :bannana:

Just to confirm, this worked on my 2002 ML270 today. Thanks.
