I'm awaiting delivery of a double din ICE unit to replace the ML w163 MB Bose system.

Once I figure out how to remove the HU (I'll probably need to buy some tools!), will I be greeted with an ISO plug or will I need to obtain an autoleads adapter?

It would appear that the pc2-36-4 works only with non amplified versions; I assume this won't fit the Bose?

Right. Jaymanek was right on the button; an ISO loom for the headunit and a similar half iso plug for the CD changer (which will now be redundant).

Next question....the headunit comes not with a cage, but with 2 x L shaped brackets. Anyone fitted a double din this way in the ML? If I can this will be good, but otherwise I'll see if I can get a cage to slide the unit in.

Anyone had any experience of fitting a double din (non command) in the w163...?

Hello JohnnyRob,

Did you successfully install your double din ICE unit in your W163 and did you keep your Bose system working?

Many thanks
Rob
