Guys need your help, I have a 2010 ML300 W164

I have an intermittent coolant temperature warning coming up on the display the "thermometer floating on ocean”
It only comes on when I’m doing circa 75-85mph on the motorway or under hard acceleration
I believe it’s a false warning as the actual temperature gauge is always at 90 C
I have changed the coolant reservoir bottle the temperature sensor on the top of the engine and the engine fan!
Any ideas what is causing this?

Also the idle is sometimes slightly high when the car is up to temperature it will idle at 900rpm instead of the normal 700rpm and wants to pull away when sat at the lights instead of just resting, this is also intermittent and will come and go on my 40mile commute to and from work

Could the 2 issues be related, has anyone had this?
