I I have recently bought my new toy but the parktronic is dead. It is displaying the two red lights on each display, buzzing then turning itself off on the cluster display.

A trip to my local merc Indy discovered on star that the sensors were responding but the main issue seems to be that the "module voltage not in range". Assuming that the module was shot I replaced it (the one under the passenger seat) and took it to the Indy again who checked the programming/ coding but said the same fault message on voltage was coming up and system still not working.

I am now facing a very expensive diagnostic session at the main dealer!

Two questions really:

1) does anyone know what the problem might be?
2) I am guessing the rear Sam might have a problem? Does anyone know where I can buy a new/ refurb one if needs be rather than going main dealer?

Thanks for any help!

Steven

Update:

The car is now at the main dealer workshop and £150 diagnostic has revealed there is no voltage reaching the sensors. A fact I had already been made aware of by the independent specialist so that's money down the drain. They are now going to spend another 2hrs and £300 more searching for chaffed or damaged wiring.

I've been told if they need to pull the bumpers off it will be a further £400 which is when I will pull the plug on them as that is far too much money to get some little lights working.

More to come.

I got the car back from mercedes and after checking the entire electrical system including modules ans sensors it turned out 4 of the sensors were bad (1 front and 3 in the rear) the outer o/s/r had an internal electrical failure which left an open circuit causing all the problems.

So costs:

£150 initial diagnostic
£350 further electrical investigation
£150 new sensors
£20 spray paint

Ouch but now all working
