Hi there all,

PLEASE HELP ,Im going crazy . Basically my front parking sensors are fine. When I put it in reverse it beeps (2 red lights on) and then it turns itself off. So I got it diagnosed 2 outter sensors faulty. I have replaced them , and now the whole system its just off front and rear . Wtf :( when I disconnect them 2 outter sensors everything is back to normal front working and back not. Please any advise? What do I do, why my system shuts down when I connect 2 new sensors? :( please help...ANY advise is needed. Email is [email protected] if needed. Many thanks guys

I have not. Maybe youre on point I shall clear the faults maybe? Ill book an appoitment with a specialist or would any system work to resset the faults? :)

Not sure if all scanners will be able to see and clear the fault. The MB II from Carsoft will as well as the Autel Diaglink often mentioned in this forum.
It will depend on your local folks.

I had a similar battle with the rear sensors on my S211. In the end after trying new control module and even wiring loom the only logical conclusion was that all 4 replacement sensors I sourced (from ebay) were faulty. So all were returned for a refund and I purchased 4 sensors from a reputable company that supply and fit after market parking sensor systems - a suggestion from Terry at Wayne Gates. Once fitted the system worked as intended and has done so for over two years now.

Where did you get your new sensors from? MB are very expensive which is why I looked for a cheaper option in the first place but of course they do actually need to work!

Good luck if you are still chasing this.

BTW you don't need to clear the fault code. Once the fault is fixed it will just remain as a stored code rather than an active one which causing the two red light display. The system resets each time you start the car which is why the front sensors work until you engage reverse whereupon you get the active fault code which shuts parktronic down and displays two red light error.

Hope that makes sense/helps.

Hello Borris.
Im still having issues. Yes I have bought x4 sensors from ebay. Like £40 I believe. And no not working. Maybe true I shall buy the sensors from where you bought them? May you tell me where you bought yours? Yes Mb sensors are VERY expensive. 100£ each from stealership :/ ... its a strugle to drive around with my big cow without working sensors.

Sorry you are still having problems - I remember how frustrating it was for me. I have an iCarsoft i980 which displays and resets the error codes but with multiple faulty sensors the diagnostics were totally confusing. It would tell me things like the rear left outer sensor was faulty but when I swapped it with the rear right outer sensor the fault either didn't move or moved to one of the inner sensors! All was resolved when I got a new set of quality sensors. I see you have PM'd me so I will reply with the supplier I used for the sensors for my S211. Total cost for my 4 (delivered) was £64 which was a lot better than MB.

Good Luck

Hi, Ive just seen your thread and have a similar issue where both front and rear sensors aren't working so I am going to buy the iCarsoft i980 as recommended to work out exactly which ones are not working, could you tell me where you bought decent quality replacements, I was just about to click buy on eBay 4 for £25 but thinking that might be a bad idea now.

The i980 worked OK for me but I believe the later version (MB II I think) is even better and can show live data from the Parktronic system.
I sourced my sensors from www.aetonline.co.uk (I have no connection with this company) and they were priced competitively and delivered very fast. Whilst I am sure some eBay sensors are kosher and work great sadly mine weren't and reading the various forums others have had similar issues with cheap sensors sourced from eBay too.

Good luck.

Is this a bumper off job to swap the sensors or can they be undone in situ. I can get at the inner left one from under the car, but how do they come off the bumper without snaping something? My i980 says inner left bad connection and outer left faulty.

I have only ever needed to change the rear sensors on my facelift S211 and these can all be done from underneath. Howeved, I believe that for the front it is indeed a bumper off job.

How do they come off? Are they twist, pull, tabs etc? I suppose the fitting will be the same on most models as most take the same sensor..
I only need to access rear sensors

There is a tab that needs to be depressed to remove the connectors and then the sendors just push out. But they are a tight fit and some effort was needed. Top tip is to ensure you thoroughly clean away any hardened mud deposits. I used water and an old tooth brush followed by a squirt of wd40 to ease the way out.
