Good day all.
Seems like a lifetime ago when I removed the engine and transmission from my 55 plate ML to attend to some niggles ( timing chains and guides, oil pump , oil cooler, leaking injectors and a huge oil leak).
Well firstly my wife contracting cancer, then covid and a house move all conspired to ensure that although all the problems were resolved nothing else was done for just over 2 years.
Last week finally managed to get the power train back into the car and it was started up with no real issues but my concern is that apart from the transmission oil pipes snapping firmly into the radiator I can't find any kind of additional retaining clip in my little bags of labelled bits that suggest there's anything extra mechanical to lock them in place.
I've looked at the drawing of the two metal pipes and it doesn't show anything else. I have no leaks and the trans seems to be working ok.
Any idea or am I just bring dim?
