I have just bought a 2015 ML 250 that has the Intelligent Bi Xenon headlight system but the Adaptive Mainbeam Assist (Option 608) is not selectable. Is it possible to enable this at all?

I have a 2013 with this option and it is in the main menu on the steering wheel menu system. You can enable and disable it through the services option in here. the OK steering wheel key toggles it on/off
If you have the camera at the top of the windscreen (next to the rain sensor) a retrofit is possible - you have to buy a software licence and use Xentry Diagnosis - but talk to Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk - we've done quite a few ..
I have it on my W212 and it is very hit and miss. Find myself having to flick off main beam as some more dim lights will just not be picked up till it is too late. Not missing out of much with this one really. Yes it does give the range in between dipped and main as well but I would happily live without it.
My ML one was hit and miss, until Mercedes re-aligned the camera properly and then it was pretty much spot-on.
When you have the 628 version (i.e plus) and full LED lighting like on my GLC it is stunning as it doesn't switch between off and on, it moves the lighting around to put a "dark box" around traffic in-front and on-coming so they are not dazzled but lights everything up !!

Thanks Richard, I just don't understand how the option was not enabled at build. Apparently it was a £106.00 option, so not a great deal of hardware required at that price. The dealer is not helping much either, but I am guessing that its just a case of enabling the code in the diagnostics somehow.
I had it on the W212 with the full intelligent lighting system and it was the best headlamp system I have used by quite some margin. It did not cause flashes at all often but the individual light box part was a pleasure to use.
On the ML63 W166 it is not as selective but still gives a benefit. I have not been flashed yet.

We have it on our W166 and it's performed faultlessly for more than 12 months, never flashed even once. It even worked when the lights were switched to traffic on the right whilst driving on the continent, which I wasn't expecting.
