Hi everyone.
New to the forum .................... so please be gentle!
I've just bought a W169 A170 based on a description and a few photographs!
It's only 250 miles away, so I won't actually see it until next week some time.
The question I have is regarding the timing chain.
Rumour has it that they can be a little bit suspect and when they go ................... they go.
Tell me please, do they give any warning of impending failure such as a rattle for a few hundred miles?
If not, should I change the tensioner just to be on the safe side, or maybe the whole chain?
Am I being paranoid here?
The car is a March 2006 model with 63,000 miles on the clock and a partial service history.
What have I done?
Thanks in advance,
Slime.
