Hi, I want to remove the armrest from an A180 at the breakers yard, I got as far as removing the panel at the back which houses a 12v socket and unscrewing the two torx screws as well as the two front ones. However, whilst the armrest console is quite loose it's still a bugger to get off, something has a hold on it and I really don't want to break it by forcing it off. It seems that it's something near the handbrake but just don't know what.

I've looked for a good tutorial, video, diagrams to get the thing off properly but haven't found anything helpful.
Wondering if you guys had anything you can share with me please?

Thanks
Sat

Hi Sat

Depending on what trim the donor car has, removal will be slightly different: if the steering wheel and handbrake are leather, there's an extra step in unhooking the handbrake - see the screenshots below:

Cheers David, Yeah it has a leather handbrake and (I think) leather steering. I'll give that a shot, where do you get all this brilliant info from?

No worries, glad to help.
I have Mercedes EPC / WIS (parts and workshop database) on my laptop - it helps :thumb:

I'm planning to remove the top rear centre console myself to fit a brand new one I just bought (after having it carbon dipped), so was actually printing these very pages a short while ago.

Carbon dipped - WOW! please send me some pics when it's all done.

Will do :thumb:
Nothing too flashy or expensive - just a few bits of interior trim...
