W169 audio 20 aux in

Help please

i have a w169 a class 2012 with a standard MB audio 20 head unit. I did swap it for an android unit last year, but this proved unreliable in use so I switched it back . I can connect my iphone , so it can pick up calls, but is it possible to stream music? I can’t seem to manage it.

I can’t see any sign of a aux in button.

Press and hold cdc for aux. I have a problem, I have no aux input socket. I have just purchased a cable that I’m hoping I can just connect through the quad connector to the radio unit to give me a 3.5mm jack to connect to CarPlay. Any thoughts on this ?

The car's Bluetooth is fine for the phone, and previous owner streamed her music through one of those gizmos that goes into the 12V socket and generates an FM signal for the radio. Not a terribly elegant solution, though it works.

HOWEVER...

Now I look in daylight, there is in fact what looks very like a media interface connection in the glove box, hidden away in the gloom right at the top and rear near the centre of the car, and facing downwards so I can't actually see the contacts inside. Hello, will this aux cable connect to the back of the radio unit thus giving me a 3.5mm jack to plug into a CarPlay? Also, can anyone direct me to a ground point around the fuse box ?
