A Class (W169)
Hi,

I'm looking for an iPhone integration for my A Class W169. I believe it is a basic Audio20 with no extras (no Comand sat nav or CD changer). I've read lots of posts and kit details but I wanted to confirm what I'm thinking here before I splash out the cash. So this is what I want to achieve:

To use my iPhone as a sat nav (copilot app)
To charge it while in use
To play audio through the stereo, ideally with steering wheel controls.
To use the phone hands-free for making calls (I'm less sure on how this works)
To not be too tied to a specific phone handset (I have an iPhone 5, wife has a 4S, but who knows in future)

This is what I was thinking of getting:

  1. mCar Phone & Digital iPod interface for Mercedes NTG1/NTG2 vehicles :: Phone System Retrofit Kits :: Mercedes Retrofits :: Comand Online Ltd for Bluetooth connection to audio and phone systems.
  2. I already have a decent charger for iPhone via cigarette lighter.
  3. Get a decent mount that will hold different types of phone such as SuperGrip Universal Case Compatible Car Mount

So I'll be using a cable up from the cigarette lighter to the mounted phone for power which connects via Bluetooth for everything else.

Does this sound sensible and cost effective to achieve everything I'm looking for?
Is there anything else I need for hands-free phone use? I'm guessing that the car doesn't have microphones installed so I would need to use a separate Bluetooth mic headset - I just get playback and controls through the stereo/steering wheel with auto-mute etc? I'm not sure if there would be any issue pairing 2 devices at once?
Is the above kit easy to fit by myself?

Thanks in advance for any help and ideas
