Hi, getting an occasional groan from the power steering when I move it from side to side.
This has happened in previous years when the temperature has been near freezing, and I want to avoid it this year.

Plenty of motor suppliers list a fluid for the w169. But I can’t find a reservoir!
There is reference to one under the washer reservoir on the W168, and the washer reservoir On my W169:is indeed detachable, but there is no where to top up the fluid, but I think there is an electric motor there

any ideas?

I'm fairly sure, but not 100%, that the W169 has electric power steering, although I've only had dealings with later ones of that model.

Handbook says nothing about topping up fluid .
I can’t find a fluid resevoir, and think it’s a pure electric rack
but then why did ECP sell me power steering fluid based on my reg number ? 🤣

Because ECP have a poor website and a poor database.

Some versions of the A Class would have used conventional fluid operated power steering
