My wife reversed out of the garage before the electric door had fully opened and the door hit the antenna and the base. The antenna snapped off and no damage to the base although you could see that it had been hit by the door. I managed to drill out the threaded base of the antenna and bought a new antenna. Radio reception in certain areas has been poor since the accident.
A new base is about £75 but don't want to buy one until I'm certain that this is the problem. Anybody know what's in the base and what could be causing the problem ????????
