Hi folks,
I have an intermittent problem with my 2013 w176 1.8 amg line. It’s currently stuck in my drive…
Just randomly one morning it would not start, key turned and the message on the dash was “without changing gear contact workshop” the radio also said “anti theft active”.
Searched the forum and concluded that the battery was at fault. I changed both the aux battery and the main battery.
Fault still exists. I have noticed that if I disconnect the positive of the Aux battery for a second, lock and unlock the car then it starts, runs and drives until it is switched off again.
The second thing I have noticed is that my cheap Obd scanner will not connect whilst the error message is on the dash but will work perfectly after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. It also shows no fault codes.
Sorry for this being so long winded but we are currently struggling with work, kids etc without the use of both our cars.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks
