Need a little advice please.

Being a little picky & I've had the car a year now, I'd like to change the fuel filter in my 180 cdi, I'm used to changing these filters on previous W169's & my wife's CL220. I've bought the new filter & have looked at the youtube videos but, I see that access to the filter is a bit restricted (back right of engine near the battery) but do I really need to remove the battery to change the filter? & if so is it just a straight reconnect the battery afterwards?

Removing the battery will make your life that much easier, you will struggle big time otherwise especially to undo and re crimp the Clic R hose clamps. Disconnecting the battery wont cause any issues and as you say is a simple re connect after.
