Dear Friends,

I have one big trouble with my bd0811 comand hdd navi on a class w169

All is working perfectly, but the "radio" seem to be like "without antenna"

do you have any solution?

thankyou in advance,

It must be a new car if it has a HDD Comand, I have not seen this being a typical issue on a W169 except on older models where the whip antenna could be damaged like when touching a garage door frame.

The new one should have a rear window antenna, has your windows been tinted with a metal based film?

Hiya

On the old COMAND the antenna amps were powered from the head unit (blue/white wire on some cars), on the new COMAND I think the cars antenna power is controlled from one of the SAMs (probably rear!)

So, your antenna amps have no power, and thus there is no signal !

The trouble is that you want that powered on when the radio is on, not just when the ignition is on - I think it does have an output to power up the comfort phone bluetooth UHI connector, but its possibly not enough current for the antenna amps ..

Oh, I was not aware of the head unit having been changed. Perhaps this was discussed on another thread, I have to find if the HDD even comes as a factory option for new W169 cars.

Ive just assumed it was changed as I assumed he'd ask his dealer otherwise !

Yes, W169 HDD unit is now factory fit - alfie had one that we briefly tried in his car and same issue - (plus we'd have to re-wire the phone microphones to the head unit and we should remove the VCS/Phone controllers from his car - so he figured it was better in a customer's car)
