Hello,

I understand my car (Estate) has an aerial amplifier in the back, since fitting a bluetooth kit which sits in the ISO harness between the radio and the car loom i havent been able to receive any radio signals (or very poor ones at that).

I presume this means that the amp maybe gets a signal from the radio being on? Does anyone know what pin on the ISO would handle this? From a sanity point of view, i've checked the aerial plug is sitting good in the back of the radio, etc.

So, small update and some clarification.

I have a bluetooth kit (IO Talk 1) which fits between the car harness and the radio, which is an Alpine unit. When the bluetooth unit is in place, i don't get very good radio reception - it's not interefered with, it's just weak. If i take it out, plug the car harness directly into the Alpine, all is good.

So I found the aerial amp which is in the C pillar, tested for 12V feed into it which was present in all situations. So my only guess now is that the bluetooth kit somehow intereferes with the radio signal. Bad times :(

Hi,
I have had exactly the same problem since fitting my Parrot Bluetooth, though i have,nt as yet done anything about it.
The Amp i believe recieves a feed from the head unit to power it up, i had thought that in putting the Parrot kit in that the additional loom had,nt allowed this feed to the Amp. I have checked what "i think" is the power feed cable to the Amp at the head unit end and there appears to be a 12+ feed there, the next step will be to see if i have continuity between the head unit and at the Amp and that there is a 12+ feed there.
I,m glad that someone else has this issue as this may prove to be a more fundamental problem somewhere.

Like I say, with the bluetooth kit fitted, the aerial signal is weak (i.e. as if it's not boosted) however I did check the amp power feed (i.e. i checked on the aerial amp itself) and it had a steady 12.67V going to it. When I pulled out the feed to the aerial amp, the radio played static, so something is happening.

Seems that the bluetooth kit is inhibiting the signal? It's driving me nuts :)
