w202 ATF dipstick - help needed.

I have suspected for a while that my transmission is low in fluid. The car doesnt come with a dipstick and mb want silly money to check it.
So i have acquired a dipstick, looks homemade, but it reaches the bottom of the gearbox. The min and max lines have been worn off - can anyone tell me the distance between the stop at the top of dipstick and the max line so that i can mark it off and check it. Thanks.

you need two sets of marks one for a cold reading and the other for hot

if no one gets it ill head to garage tomorrow and get the measurements
