W202 auto dipstick

Hi I have a 1999 c180 sport and today while topping up washer bottle I notice that the gearbox dip stick is missing.Theres a tube coming up from back of engine which I`m guessing is the dip stick but theres nothing in the tube.But on doing a search I`ve found some cars dont have a dip stick but do they have the tube and if so is there a stopper in the top?

There should be a black cap on top of the tube (with a red locking tab - but that's less important).

It is not good if dust gets into the ATF.

I suggest you prepare a make-shift cap for now and get a proper one from the dealer (or from breakers, or from eBay) as soon as possible.

Ok so its not missing a dip stick just a cover cap
