Ok i'm guessing somewhere near the back of the dash?
The problem is my LH headlight is not working, done so far:-
1) checked fuses OK
2) checked volts at lamp connector removed from the lights, 8.5v this would point to a dodgy joint somewhere. According to my trusty Heynes manual the wires go to the Bulb failure control unit but doesn't say where it is! Teapot and chocolate springs to mind!
3) Took fuse panel out and traced wires back from lamp and they do seem to disappear into the bottom of the dash area.
4) Rain stops play until tomorrow so any suggestions or help would be much appreciated, i got to removing the bottom under the steering wheel.
Regards
Stuart

There is not an actua;l control unit for this.

You will find the light switch has a dodgy joint.

According the the manual the volts go through the switch, onto the dip full beam onto the fuses, where they are then split into left and right and then into this BULB FAILURE CONTROL UNIT.
So switch can't be the problem for that reason and its only got one contact for the headlights as far as i can make out!
Am about to go outside and have another look.

Stuart
Ok I'm back in now, never did find the missing phantom bulb failure unit but traced the fault to both of the earth connections on both left and right front light connectors being full of corrosion, like a whitish powder, a quick clean up with a needle file and all is now well again :)
Hope it helps someone in the future
Cheers

How old is the car? Does it have a metal flick out key or the later DAS3 Key?
