W202 C180 Won't start

Hi Guys,

My grandparents 1996 C180 refuses to start, it will turn over but refuses to actually come to life, and during this the green immobiliser light on the rear view mirror flashes, is it possible the fault may be related? or is the flashing whilst starting normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you sure its just the green light ? not red & green ?

Sounds like the immobiliser is not turning off.
Does the red light on the mirror illuminate when locking and the green upon unlocking?
If the red light does not illuminate at any occasion this will more than likely be your fault as the lamp needs to be in circuit for correct operation of the alarm/immobiliser.
You could try new fob batteries first (cheaper and simpler than replacing the mirror), it "may" solve the issue, don,t be mislead into believing because the fobs batteries are still operating the central locking that they are ok, the alarm side of it is voltage dependant, and separate from the alarm/immobiliser
