W202 C220 CDI Diesel Pre Filter

I have a 2000 reg C220 cdi milage 147k .I am trying to establish if it has a diesel pre fuel filter located under the plastic cover adjacent to offside rear wheel.
I have contacted 2 local independent MB service specialists ,they say it has not.
I have had the car from new and if it has a filter it has never been changed.
Eurocarparts,GSF and Halfords do not list a part but Autodoc (EU) does.
There are a number of videos on youtube showing the filter being replaced the location being under the plastic cover alongside electric fuel pump.
Any advice would be appreciated before I jack the car up and have a look.

the diesel fuel filter is usually in the engine compartment. You may be thinking of the fuel tank evaporation filter which may be located in the rear offside wheel arch?

I have never heard of that so that may be the case and it is not a part that requires periodic replacement.
