W202 C230 Kompressor- Early to late engine differences? Different inlet manifold etc?

Hi.

I just got hold of a P-Reg C230K, and its quite different under the bonnet to the slightly later one I had in the past.

Cable throttle rather than electric, totally different inlet manifold (throttle faces sideways rather than upwards), and so on.

Is this correct?

The interior and exterior are different too, so I guess I shouldnt be surprised, but I had no idea the engines were a little different too.

Yes that correct. These are differences between the pre facelift and facelift 230K's. The interior obviously but the engine had a few changed made to it also.
