W202 C240 Brake creek

Hi folks,

Got a small problem recently. When I reverse out of the drive and brake I can hear the front brakea make a very distinctive creek/crack noise, then when I go forwards and stop same thing. Basically I get this when I go in the opposite direction and brake. Seems like some movement somewhere, performance of the brakes is fine.

Any thoughts?

Its the pads moving in the pad carrier. Not the end of the world problem. Sometimes caused buy cheap pads or worn pad carriers.

Hey Olly, pads are originals. All parts on the both cars come from MB. Cost for carriers, worth doing?

Not much, just annoying. Car drives like new except this.

Don't worry to much then. Take the pads out, re- grease them and clean the contact surfaces and make sure the pad has not come away from the backing.
