    Hi,

MB dealer has qoted 299 for a new MAF.

Ind specialist has quoted around 180 for a pattern maf.

I am on a tight budget and i know MB is best, but will a pattern maf last the 2 years i need it too.

PS the car is worthless as it is rusty and old and petrol and terrible mpg!

    Thanks.

If the pattern MAF is made by Bosch or Pierburg from a bona fide source OK otherwise no. Too many Far East cheap copies on the market which only last months. They are pretty easy to fit so easy DIY if you want save a bit. You can actually just fit the sensor part which is less than £100 from ECP.
This How To is for a V6 but install is just the same just a different insert. http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/howto/25426-howto-mas-replacement-m112-v6-engine.html
